14. Geologic Hazards


Causes of Geologic Hazards

1. Earthquakes which can cause liquefaction of soil and tsunami

2. Volcanic Eruptions' lava flows, ash fall and lahar flows

3. Land slides (rock falls or slides, debris flows, mud flows, etc.)

4. Floods that can cause inundation and erosion

5. Snow avalanches

6. Sand blasting (wind blown)

Sinkhole - collapse of ground into subsidence hollow
